Who is Dictating the Styles Used in Interior Decorating Today?

Being a web developer has always been a fulfilling role for me, ever since I graduated school I have always been passionate about it. Landing a good job after school it felt like I already achieved what I have always dreamed about. After working for a couple of years in the office 9 to 5 set up, it felt a bit boring and tiring, it felt like I want to have a more challenging career where in I could use and develop my skills further and of course I would want to earn more as well so I can save up for the future, I realized that I wanted to quit my job, find a part time job or full time projects and I wanted to pursue affiliate marketing, I really got inspired when I saw an article Quit 9 to 5 Academy review.

Who is Dictating the Styles Used in Interior Decorating Today?

With affiliate marketing I was able to ditch my 9 to 5 job, and work towards my next journey which is to become a freelance web developer. I’m planning to just work at home and I would like to set up a nice home office, initially I was planning to hire an interior decorator so I will have a beautiful office but then I realized that why not do it myself, since I am very particular about anything I do, very meticulous with my choices and I want to be hands on in the entire process plus I can use some more money for the project.

Of course hiring an interior decorator would be nice as your place will be professionally done and transformed, but if you want to be practical about spending your money, why not do it yourself. After all if you ask who really dictates the style used in interior decorating, the answer is you, yes the consumers.

An interior designer would start a design based on the key information you provide to them, determine the style suitable for your taste, figure out the paint, lighting, fabric etc that will be used for the project and match the client’s personality. But if you are on a budget, you know what exactly what you want to achieve and know where to purchase the items you need, then go for it and do it yourself. After all you are the one dictating what will entirely happen, plus it will also be fulfilling after the transformation happens.

Elements of Interior Design

After deciding on my next move, I have learned that my next new adventures (affiliate marketing and interior decorating my home office) is both synonymous in a sense that both needs research and of course hard work to achieve success in both fields. In terms of my home office project I also tried to do more research as I want to achieve a beautiful and relaxing office space. Below are the elements of interior design:

I have never felt really free after making my latest decision in terms of my career and future plans. It feels like I am really in charge of what would happen next. The more I work hard, the more I earn.

How to Clean Construction Dust from Wood Floors

How to Clean Construction Dust from Wood Floors

Getting your well-constructed first home or even your old house renovated is undoubtedly a moment of pride.  However, cleaning up the mess that is an aftermath of the construction process is undoubtedly an enormous headache.  Most of us struggle with the entire cleaning process of the construction dust that settles in on different surfaces including the floorings, walls, and even in places where we can hardly reach.  In this article, we would be discussing the various steps in which you can clean the construction dust from your wooden floors.

Step1: Be Ready With The Right Equipment

Now before you begin with the cleaning process, I would suggest you gather up all of the necessary tools that you would require for the entire cleaning process of your wooden flooring.  Getting everything together ahead of time will ensure that you have all of the tools that you need and you won’t have to be interrupted with a trip to the hardware store.

The essential things that you would need are:

1. A face mask to help you from inhaling the dust yourself and making yourself sick.

2. A pair of work gloves.

3. A good quality vacuum cleaner.

4. Good quality broom for sweeping the floor.

5. Dustpan.

6. Dust mop.

7. A few buckets of warm water.

8. If possible a better quality towel, which is soft as well.

9. Detergent that is safe to use on your wood floors.

Step 2: The Actual Method Of Cleaning The Wooden Floors

This step can be further divided into smaller steps as follows, to make things a lot easier for you:

1. Wear your Face mask – This step is essential before you begin with any of the cleaning processes. The aim is to help you from inhaling the harmful dust from the construction particles, which can also harm your health.  So first things first – always protect yourself!

2. Wear your Hand gloves – Similarly, you need to protect your hands from coming in contact with any cleaning solutions that you might be using in the further cleaning processes.  You never know what they might contain.  Prevention is much easier than a chemical burn, so keep the gloves on even if they are irritating.

3.Sweep up the floor – This is to gather up the bigger dirt and dust dust particles and mainly if it is construction dust, then it certainly has to begin by sweeping it up.  Please take a good quality broom and begin sweeping gently across the wood floor, making sure you pick up most of it in a dustpan.  Make sure you dust the room multiple times, with regular motions, to wipe out the construction dust completely, which tends to resettle. Make sure you keep a gap of about 10 minutes between your multiple sweeping sessions.

4 . Vacuum the wood floor – Using a vacuum post the full sessions is always a brilliant idea. However, before going ahead with the vacuuming process, make sure you put up the right attachment of the vacuum cleaner, to not damage or scratch your precious wooden flooring.  The best one would be to use the floor brush attachment of the vacuum cleaner, which will gently suck the dust from the floor completely.  Vacuums are also necessary to suck the dust in between those little crevices that your wood floor might have otherwise. A regular broom cannot reach out to such hard places.

5. Mop the floor – Now to make your floor utterly bereft of the construction dust, take a bucket of warm water and soft mop (excellent quality, so as not to damage your wooden floor in any way possible).  Mop as gently as possible with multiple strokes, intermittently dipping the mop in clean water to remove the excess dust always use a brand new clean mop head to clean up your wood floor after construction.  This step will ensure that the mop remains a bit clean every time you use it on the floor, taking up all the remaining dust particles along with it.   Now let the floor dry up completely, before following the next step.

6. Use a branded wooden floor cleaner – By branded, what we mean is an excellent quality cleanser product, which takes complete care of your wood floor. Make sure the floor cleaner that you would be using should be of ultimate quality and only meant for cleaning wooden surfaces such as floors.  This step will ensure a much cleaner and polished looking surface for your wooden floor, along with a longer life as well.   Make sure you wipe off any excess floor cleaner solution with a soft towel to make your floors shine for a longer duration.

Following the steps mentioned above to clean your construction dust would ensure an altogether cleaner, smoother and long lasting polished effect on your precious wooden floors.

Why Cleanup is So Important on Construction

Why Cleanup is So Important on Construction

Whether you are a homeowner or a real estate developer, the completion of your construction or renovation project is an exciting prospect. Months or even years of planning, followed by the execution involving a multitude of steps, approvals, and timelines, finally culminates into the moment the project is taken possession of by the end user. To make this moment memorable, it is necessary to ensure that the project premise is spotless, clean, and beautiful. Post construction cleanup ensures exactly this.

Why Cleanup is So Important on Construction

Depending on the nature of the construction contract, the post-construction cleanup may or may not be a responsibility of the contractor. This is true especially for smaller contractors and retail civil projects. The cleanup requires specialized tools and equipment which may not be available with the contractors. In such instances, the responsibility of the cleanup on construction falls on the homeowner/ real estate developer. Hence it is necessary to understand the important nuances of this process. A homeowner or a developer could also hand over this activity to a professional third-party cleaner who is experienced and competent to undertake this activity.

What does the post-construction cleanup involve?

Post construction cleanup involves several activities including tidying up of the premise, disposal of the trash, debris and hazardous waste, cleanup of all the fixtures within the premise including kitchen, restrooms and the furniture. It also includes vacuuming, wet cleanup and even general sweeping. The goal of the post-construction cleanup is to make the premise safe and livable. Depending on the size of the project and its timelines, it can also be divided into three steps by a professional cleaner as per the industry practice:

Preliminary – Undertaken after all the framing, plumbing and electrical work is completed. It typically involves removal of larger debris, trash, general sweeping or vacuuming.

Intermediate/ Fixture cleaning – Carried out after construction is almost done, for the thorough cleaning of kitchen and restroom fixtures, glass areas, doors and windows, walls, electric boards and so on.

Final cleaning – this usually involves a final polish of the premise. All the steps of cleanup are tallied against a checklist and may involve processes such as wet cleaning, cleaning of carpets and so on depending on the necessity at the site.

Post construction cleanup is of paramount importance in terms of making a premise liveable and marketable. Here are some reasons spelling out the importance of this process.

It makes the right impression:

Large or small, every real estate project result in a tremendous amount of debris and trash. This needs to be removed from the project site before the homeowners or end users can move in. Any homeowner is looking forward to a beautiful and clean home at the end of their construction/renovation. For a commercial premise owner, it is important to showcase a spic and span premise to the clients. For a real estate developer, this translates into marketability of the real estate project. No matter how beautifully executed, a project’s impression can increase manifold in the eyes of buyers if it is spotlessly clean.

It ensures livability:

The cleanup involves clearing dust, cleaning all the fixtures including kitchen, restroom etc and thus ensuring their workability. Dust is practically everywhere on completion including tiny spaces. While clearing it is important to ensure functionality of the premise, its existence can be life-threatening to people with allergy and respiratory issues. Additionally, a lot of times things such as restroom fixtures do not work on account of dust/debris and cement being stuck in them. The cleanup ensures that all these issues are taken care of and the premise is livable.

It assures safety:

Post completion of construction, there is a significant number of items such as glass shards, nails, wires, metal pieces in addition to the debris, wood, tiles and certain raw materials including paint, asbestos, and PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyls) that are hazardous and include harmful chemicals. The disposal of these items needs to be as per the safety standards prescribed by the local authority. Non-disposal of these might otherwise lead to the trash lying near the site and may not be in compliance with local regulations. Also, non-disposal of any hazardous waste out of the same might pose safety issues for users of the facility. Post construction cleanup ensures the disposal of all these items and makes the premise safe.

Efficient cleanup by the professional cleaners:

The post-construction cleanup can be outsourced to the professional experts. Not only are they experts in conducting these activities while adhering to the required safety standards, they also can do so within the optimum amount of time. Thus, they pose a reliable option for homeowners and real estate developers to make their premises ready for possession in no time.

Thus, while post construction cleanup poses some significant challenges, they can be overcome easily with adequate information and timely attention. The assistance of professional cleaners can also be sought to ensure efficiency.
